Denver's Northern Suburbs

It can be tricky to figure out which Denver suburb is the best for your lifestyle, your family, and your wants and needs. If you’re considering moving to the Mile High City, there are three of Denver’s top northern suburbs you've got to check out.

Frederick

While you may not have heard of Frederick, this coal-mining town with a rich history has a ton to offer first-time homebuyers and young families. It has a movie-style, small-town feel with a small, quaint downtown. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants for you to enjoy as well as craft breweries. You'll also find some local hidden gems like an authentic German deli run by someone who cooks for the Queen. It’s called German deli and it's right behind Mountain Cowboy. Make sure you check it out in downtown Frederick.

If you’re looking for something fun to do during the summer months, we’ve got an amazing festival called Miner Days. It features a burro race down the middle of Main Street that you can’t miss, and the kids will absolutely love it. One other fun thing about Frederick is that it’s located in one of the top up-and-coming areas. We’ve got new builds popping up all over the place and a few well-established neighborhoods. For anyone that is looking for an investment property, Frederick is one of your top areas to check into with our great school system.

One other thing that Frederick is also known for is the amazing Front Range trail. You have mountain views on this trail and it also connects you over to our next upcoming town, Firestone.

Firestone

Many of our clients that have relocated and moved here to the Denver Metro area have picked Firestone as the place to put down roots and become Coloradans. One of the nice things about this city is it's further away than your typical suburb of Denver. The price points for first-time homebuyers and those looking to buy a single-family home are right in line with most people’s budgets.

Living in Firestone is great. It's right off 25, allowing you to jump on and head straight down to Denver nice and easy. If you're looking to spend the day up in the mountains, you’re only about 45 minutes away from the national park full of fun outdoor attractions. You can easily see some elk wandering down Main Street, and it's also home to the Stanley Hotel - the inspiration for The Shining.

Firestone is a beautiful, up-and-coming suburb that's perfect for young families. There are lots of parks, great school systems, and you can take a horse out pretty much anywhere. In fact, there are more stables and horses located in Firestone than in any of the surrounding towns. Once you put your horse back into the stable, make sure you grab your bicycle because there are tons of biking paths. There’s a great biking path that leads from Firestone up to Longmont, which is our next town.

Longmont

Longmont has a unique downtown atmosphere. It gives you that old-style homey vibe with all the great amenities of a larger town. You’ve got everything from fantastic restaurants to holistic crystal shops. Make sure you check out the Book Market where you can buy everything in bulk.

Most businesses in downtown Longmont are family-owned and run. This is great because you get to get to know people on a more personal level, which gives it that small-town feel in a big city town. Another great attraction is The Longmont Museum, fun for all ages or if you’re just looking for a great date location. It’s got tons of different art from around the world, including private collections that come in and touring collections as well. And Make sure you take the kids because there is hands-on science fun there, too.

If you’re looking to get the kids outdoors and teach them all about the farm, make sure you check out Sunflower Farm. It’s a wonderful outdoor activity place where kids can get hands-on and learn all about animals. For the more adventurous, Longmont has skydiving. So if you’re an avid jumper, you have to check out the skydiving because the mountains look a little bit different when you’re coming down at them. So head over to Mile-Hi Skydiving and make your reservation today.
