Three North-End Denver Suburbs Closer To Boulder

Are you thinking about moving to Denver, Colorado or the metro area and you’re wondering what Denver suburbs might suit your lifestyle the best? In this video, we’re going to talk about three amazing Denver suburbs that are closer to Boulder on the north end of the metro area. I'll explain how these suburbs are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, avid shoppers, or anyone who likes to relax with a couple of brewskis on the weekends.

Exploring Boulder

The first suburb we're going to explore is Boulder. I’m sure some of you have probably seen the iconic Pearl Street in movies and TV shows. It’s a four-block pedestrian walkway filled with tons of incredible local boutiques, shopping, coffee, and plenty more. You name it, Pearl Street has it. It’s also known for its incredible people watching with street performers year-round. So whether you're going out for a night on the town or just grabbing lunch, this hotspot is one you'll want to check out.

If you’re looking to get out of town for a little bit, you should definitely check out Flagstaff Trails or Flatiron Mountain. Those are some of the perfect hiking trails for all levels. If you’re getting out with the kids, I highly suggest going out to the different forest preserves and open spaces as they’ve got tons of easy walking trails.

Boulder also has the University of Colorado Boulder. Even though it’s a college town nestled in the foothills, you have beautiful sights to see. With a 100-year-old campus, it’s pretty fun to walk around, too. Boulder is also known for its almost year-round farmer’s markets. If you’re like me, I like farmer's markets for my fresh produce, but they’ve got tons of other vendors as well with crafts and jewelry. Some of these even run into mid-November. You can usually find different farmer's markets twice a week, so make sure to check them out.

Boulder's foothills location makes it really easy to either get up into the mountains or jump right back down to downtown Denver - all in only about 35 minutes. With so much to see and do, this just might be the right neighborhood for you.

Lunch In Lafayette

If you really like Boulder, another town you should explore is Lafayette. They just did a massive facelift of Old Town and there are tons of new homes popping up. They’ve got some great award-winning new restaurants as well. For all you foodies out there, make sure you stop by and take a tour around Lafayette's downtown and grab a bite to eat. I highly recommend eating at the Eat At Community. This place is completely local, including the brews and wine. All of their menu items keep changing, so you never walk into the same menu twice on your adventures out there.

If you’re looking for a fun way to get around town, you'll want to give Western Dual Sport a call. You can rent a motorcycle for the day, and it’s an exciting way to get around town, see different areas of Lafayette, or take it right on up to the mountains.

It’s dog friendly out here in Colorado, and one of the hot spots out in Lafayette is called Romero’s K9 Club & Tap House. This is a great time for all of your furry friends with one of the largest indoor on-leash pavilions. If you want your pooch to run around and get that exercise while it’s nice out, step outside with your craft brew, grab a picnic table, and let that pup run around.

There’s a hidden gem in Lafayette that not a lot of people know about called Colorado Wilderness Rides And Guides. If you call them up, you can do anything. So whether your kids are small, you’re looking to get out with the family, or you’re just looking to go horseback riding, skiing, whitewater rafting, or fishing with friends, you name it and they’ll take you to go do it.

Adventuring In Louisville

If you’re looking for another town that’s got some really cool, rich history, Louisville is definitely the place to go. It also has some unique attractions that you can't easily find elsewhere. Did you know you can hold a snake or any type of reptile at the Nature Lab? There you'll work with experts that teach you all about different reptiles, from exotic to local. You can hold them, touch them, play with them, and learn all about them. It’s a great attraction for the whole family.

Over the summer months, Louisville offers a free downtown street fair every weekend. This is a great time to get out and explore the town and meet some of your neighbors. It's also the perfect spot to let the kids run around, try some new and different dishes from the food trucks, listen to some music while you soak up that summer sun. For some great local eats, everybody knows the famous Huckleberry Cafe. You can get some of their Huckleberry pie, homemade pancakes, or stop by for a Hibiscus Margarita on their lunch specials menu

Additionally, on the first Friday of every month, you'll see yellow balloons in Louisville. This is for their local first Friday of the month art walk. All the local street artists and vendors in the area can come and put their artwork up, pop up a tent, and let the locals walk through. There’s also great jazz music that usually plays, so make sure you follow those yellow balloons next time you’re in town.
